2016 Hyundai Elantra

by ELANTRA6048 on 06-09-2017
BEST CAR
This is the best car I could have asked for from my parents when receiving my license. First of all, the exterior look to the car is remarkable; sleek with a hint of sporty. It is so good on gas. I run a lot of errands in my car and sometimes I go so long without filling up my tank I can’t remember the last time I did! Love the inside features such as heated seats in the front and back, touch screen and the overall presentation of the interior. I am proud of my car and looking forward to the time spent in it.

Love this car
The Elantra has never let me down. She does need a bit of brake work right now but that's my fault. She's a smooth ride and I love the interior.

it feels small
took some time getting used to as I was always a full size car driver. Not impressed with the sound quality of the stereo. the gear changes that are very predominate. many blind spots. The contoured front end is still difficult to get used to.

Honest car for the money
Not very bad, small car, perfect fir saily commute.
Traded for a Toyota, it was lacking reliability I was looking for. After only few years the level of rusted under the car parts was unbelievable comparing with same generation coupke years older corolla. If you are looking to keep it no more thsn 5 years, is worth the money.

2011 Hyundai Elantra

best gas millage i've ever had in a vehicle. And I absolutely love the way this car drives & looks.
I spent a lot of time looking for a decent vehicle for myself and had a difficult time making a decision. But when I first seen the 2011 Hyundai Elantra, right away I new that that car was the one. It just looked so slick and sexy, I had to have it. especially after taking it for a test drive. I love this car and always seem to have people complimenting me on it! I have had no issues with it so far and it's been mine for almost six years now. and the gas millage is incredible. This is my most favourite car that have ever owned, by far!

amazing
I don't know how they can get so much power out of a 1.8 l engine and still get phenomenal gas mileage. I traded an older Mercedes 500 SL which I only drove on sunny days for something more useful. It doesn't have the same power of course as a 500 SL, but I was very impressed at how peppy it is and amazed at the fuel economy. It looks sharp and I've gotten many complements on it from people as well.

Constant Flow of Problems
I got my 2012 Elantra brand new and put around 55000 kms on it over 4 years.
The car has been nothing but problems so far and now I have only 6 months of warranty left - I am horrified.
Here is what broke down since day one:
The exhaust pipe had to be replaced since it was touching something and was constantly rattling
Three engine coils went at different times. Apparently software update during replacement of the third one fixed the issue.
3.5 year into the life of the car, backup camera broke and since electronics warranty lasts only three years - dealership wants NINE HUNDRED dollars to replace it.
And today check engine light came on again and car started violently shaking. Transmission temperature sensor had to be replaced.
One of the key fobs stopped working and replacing the battery did not revive it. Of course it is not covered either.
I feel that I spent more time in dealership then driving.
In addition, the metal of the body is so thin, that two dents went right through it and now I have holes in the door.
Please avoid guys, there is better cars out there.

A sexy looking car!
I have been buying and driving cars for over 40 years. This car looks great and is comfortable. Excellent on gas and roomy (once I get my 6' 2" body in side). I love all the features and get it rust checked as I plan on keeping it 10 or more years. We have no regrets in our first year, as a matter of fact it is a better car than expected!

great engine in a not so great body
this car drives really well. engine is solid and handles great. even fuel consumption is acceptable. but this car is a rust bucket. I had this car rustproofed twice and it still rusted like crazy. these koreans cars seem to be made of recycled metal because they get eat up by rust very easily.

2007 Hyundai Elantra

best car I've owned
I bought this car used from a dealership with 40K for $10 350 back in Dec/2008 and am presently at 252 000K and going strong. It's had no major repairs and has been a wonderful car - great gas mileage, comfortable, easy to drive manual transmission. I have nothing but compliments for this trusty car, which has aced many long road trips and a daily commute of 50 km. Repairs have included clutch, a back door latch, brakes, CD/radio electrical when I first got it. A/C is excellent and powerful, cruise control and heated seats work well. I don't think I'll ever get a better car, and the price sure was right!

Nice to drive, comfort and convenience
Pretty roomy car with great technological advantages.

When I was looking for a new car a few years ago, my friend recommended Hyundai and I've been pretty happy with this car ever since. I'm a salesman so I especially like that I can talk on my mobile using the bluetooth and not worry about getting a ticket. The heated seats are great in the winter and having a place for my sunglasses is awesome. All in all a great car at low price.

2000 Hyundai Elantra

Fantastic No-Frills Car
We bought this car new in 2000. After 14 years, the engine is still in excellent condition. Fuel economy is much better than reported on-line. Plenty of power (135 HP) when the entire family is inside. We've gone to the east coast with this car and vacation in it every summer. Thank goodness for roof racks! Heat, A/C, cruise control, and power everything still work fine. Had some issues with rust - we did not rust proof it every year like we should have. Now we have a lot of rust spots. The suspension is now shot too, but after 14 years, that is expected. Very inexpensive to fix & maintain this car. I never want to get rid of it but now the catalytic converter is finally gone. After 14 years of beating this car like a rented mule, it might be time to finally put it out to pasture. I'm sure the engine still has another 100,000km in it. It is now at 230,000km.
Ratings: interior and exterior styling are boring. The wagon is SO handy. No need for a mini-van. The performance is better than most American cars in the same class (ie Chevy Cavalier), but not as good as a Honda Civic.
Overall: Very practical, reliable, inexpensive to operate and maintain.

2013 Hyundai Elantra

Trim: GT GL
by cdnlad75 on 09-14-2014
Great looks....Horrible to Drive.
I am rather shocked by the rather 'good' reviews I am reading about this car after having one for 1 1/2 years and couldn't WAIT to get rid of it.

Lets start with the worst offender of all on this car.... the suspension, although specifically the rear suspension. I have never driven a car that had a suspension that would crash and take bumps so poorly. The issue mainly is the rear torison beam suspension that is terribly calibrated and skips and jumps whenever one side of the car hits a pothole or bump that the other side of the car does not. There were many times where I felt I was loosing control of the car because the whole rear end would 'shake' upon one side of the car hitting a pothole while the other one didn't. Invest in many bags of cat litter or sand to weigh down the rear suspension.

Now, although the rear suspension is horrible, the front is only somewhat better. The front end had issues of bouncing and sensations of the front end becoming 'disconnected' from the road.

Next is the lifeless steering. If you want a car that transmits nothing through the steering wheel as to what the front wheels are doing, then this is the car for you. The turning circle is wide for this class and you need to take wide swings to get into tight parking spots.

Lastly, the front seats. I had horrible time and spend weeks trying to find a somewhat comfortable driving position because I just couldn't get the correct back seat angle, seat distance from the wheel and steering wheel reach.

The positives with this car, the 5 year warranty, the voice recognition is good, and it was reliable for the 1 1/2 years I owned this car.
