2003 Hyundai Elantra

Great on gas, could have more interior comfort
I inherited this car and even though it's older, it's still chugging along. The interior of the car could be more comfortable, if you have back problems you might need more padding and comfort on the seats, that's really the only negative.

When it comes to gas, this car is amazing. You can drive great distances and use very little. Mine is a 2003 and it's had very little problems, would definitely recommend.

A great commuter car
This car is perfect in every sense of the word. It has sporty suspension, sporty steering and is very comfortable to drive.

My only beef with this vehicle is that I wish they had included the 2.7 Litre Hyundai Tiburon engine as an option for this car. It would have given it more pep and made it more lively on the highway.

Average fuel economy was around 11L/100km in the city and about 7L/100km on the highway, slightly worse than advertised.

Another weak point was the radio reception, which once replaced with a conventional DIN unit, made up the shortfall. The speakers are very good with an aftermarket unit.

Super Economical Hatchback
With the leather heated seats and being mistaken for a Saab this car definitely feels like a step up for an economy car. Easy & fun to drive, incredible mileage, room to haul stuff and inexpensive to maintain. Would recommend to anyone wanting an economical and reliable vehicle that's not too small.

Excellent economical car
I have owned a 2003 hyundai elantra for 8 years now and can say I have had zero issues mechanically with this car. It continues to be excellent for fuel economy and has gone on many a road trip. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a reliable daily commuter or first car for a younger driver.

Best Fuel Economy
Hyundai Elantra has better fuel economy compared the other economy size sedans I've driven or owned. I gives more than 500km on a full tank. And it is really dependable, all I do for maintenance is to change the oil.
I recommend this car for everyday commute.

Been an excellent car
Bought this car brand new in Aug.2003.
It is an excellent car for in town but found it uncomfortable on long trips. We replaced the timing belt at 97000 km for peace of mind and the struts at 115000 km a month ago.Had one recall 3 months after we bought it, a transmission sensor. Best vehicle we ever owned.

Good confort for the price
This 2.0 liter motor is not the best for the fuel consumption. The acceleration of this car is interesting, but the gear shifting is not the best on the planet. I have the automatic one I like the comfort of this car. There is a lot of space in front and back seats and even in the car trunk. I change the radiator In the first five years of life of this car, in the other case we didn't spent a lot of money this car even after 10 years.

I bought this car when it came out brand new in 2002, I felt that it would be good because of its price and looks. Nothing too special about the car but it was good enough to do the job.

Perfect small car
I got this car after my van was wrecked in a crash. I wanted to down size because i dont need much room. this car is perfect for everyday use and i use it on the highway all the time and its great. only problem ive ever had is the one window button breaking and a fuse blowing. other then that its ran perfectly. its comfortable for 4 people but 5 can get cramped.

Good but
There is many problems occurring to this car. And some strange problems: electrical problems, so that the rear window can only go down, much rust.

Best car I've ever owned.
I've loved this car since the day I bought it. I spent the first month thinking "You know, it'd be cool if this car had...oh, wait, it does!"

It's never let me down, never cost me any money, and it breaks my heart to sell it. Been reading car/driver type magazines and apparently most auto manufacturers are going out of standard transmissions in the next couple of years. I've always driven a standard and always want to, so I figured well, much as I love my Elantra, maybe I should upgrade to something new while I can still get a standard...which is the only reason I'm even thinking of selling it.

Love love my Elantra!

Recomend.
Bought 5 y.o. Very comfortable, problems started on 9th year.
Fuel consumption is quite 11.5L-city, 9.5L - hwy.
Don't buy 9 y.o. or older.
Keep it up to 7-8 y.o. and you'll love it.
Traded in to anotherHyundai, brand new.
Recommend.

Safe, Reliable and Great on Gas!
For a small car this car fits your entire living room in the back seat and truck. I have moved several times and I am always amazed at the space this car has in it.

As for performance the Elentra GT has some good power to it. The car is pretty simple but very reliable. I have been driving this car for 10 years and have yet to have any major issues with it.

A good all around ride with great fuel economy. A nice starter car for anyone looking for a safe, city friendly vehicle.
