I paid 1800$ for a 1997 toyota Corolla 1.8 L. Its been 6 years and all i had to do is breaks, shocks and exhaust.... the car is now 230k km and the transmission and engine runs fine !

Very good car, gas consignation is excellent, very reliable, you can go to any where with confidence that you are going to arrive safe.

I am happy with the corolla. It has performed well for the cost.
For such an inexpensive car, I do not think you could get much bettter. It gets very reasonable fuel economy and has a very low maintenance cost.

My Toyota is very reliable car. The only issue is seats are not comfortable, I am the second owner I bought this car from an old lady, on May 2007 with a mileage of 37,680KM now after six years with 214,400KM I change oil regular, plus replace trimming belt two times (only for maintenance). This baby is a rock.

It's reliable when you need it but when you're just driving on your own it can get costly. Comfortable but needs more to it.

I have had this car for 2 years and it has treated me well very reliable and has given so much for how much money I put in to it. It has over 400,000 kms on it and is 15 years old. Great car and totally worth it

This car was a gift and I love the way it rides it's great on gas and is comfortable driving.I have had the car for four years and have never had any problems with it and it's got over 200, 000 kms on it. Very easy to handle. I love Toyota's My very first car in 81 was a Toyota Tercel. Loved it.

It lasts me pretty long, it's durable and the wheels are light.
During long rides it's comfortable and easy to drive

For me this is my first car. And for my first car it is great. It gets about 600 km on a tank I guesstimated. It's a great vechicle for your first car. Unfortunately it isnt anything special, everything is ok, but it isn't great. But for the year and size it is a pretty great car. Do not plan on taking 3 people in the back unless they are kids cause the leg room isn't great, but the trunk is pretty well sized. In terms of power the car is almost always gutless. If you can hit the gas at the right time you might be able to get a little punch out of it. But if you give time you can get up to 160 km/h ;)

Rock solid car that has proven its worth, not expecting much as a student buying a 1997 Corolla years ago used with over 60,000km on the clock.
Bought the car in 2001 and has over 300+km now, dont want to let the car go as it runs well with regular service and love.

Still on the original clutch and most other mechanical goods, the body is going to go first from rust in the Canadian winters. Im sure If I oil sprayed it will not rust as much but overall this car has been great. Can't wait to buy another Toyota and who knows maybe another Corolla.

I have owned this car a little over 2 years now and have not had any problems since. Being it as an older vehicle there are some minor rattles and such that you would expect. The driving is very pleasant. Although the power is very mundane and lacking. The standard transmission is pretty peppy for a lack-lustered powered car but it does get you to wherever you are going. Push it hard and it will rev high but then the struggling engine begs to be shifted to next gear. Braking isn't the best but it does stop on a dime, if you are going relatively slow or within the city limits. The interior isn't anything spectacular but it serves its purpose of hauling yourself and any passengers at a very comfortable level. Compared to many cars out there now, I find the interior of this corolla is a little bit better in terms of material on the dash and even the carpeting. It seems as the engineers back then really cared for the driver and its passengers rather than what they put in to cars nowadays. The main reason I bought this vehicle is because of its great gas mileage and its reliability. Who says buying an older car can not give you good mileage. This car gets me 2 weeks, close to 3 on a $50 full tank of gas. And I do all my maintenance for this car from oil change to brake pads and coolant flush. That is a major plus for me and keeps me away from the 'stealership' mechanics. Parts are cheap and the car is easy to care for. What else can I ask for in a car. It serves its purpose and I enjoy driving it everyday minus the headaches that most new cars are begging to give.
