2011 Honda CR-V

by HondaShopper on 09-13-2017
Attractive, low maintenance and good value
This is my 3rd Honda, and for value for money plus resale value, you can't beat it. The 2011 is the last in its generation before being redesigned, so no usb charger built in etc, but everyone agrees the 2011s are the best in their class. My car has held its value, runs well, and is a great family car. I probably will choose Honda again when I want a new car.

It's comfortable
It is very nice to drive, it has been very easy to deal with these few years, has never suffered any problems! The fuel economy could probably be better, but all in all, it is a highly recommended model!

C'est trés bien!
Pour toute la saison, il est trés formidable! I've have the been using the car for the many years and it drives very well, but it eats up a lot of the fuel. If it consumed less fuel, it would be a great car!

I simply love this car
I leased the car new in 2011 in Saskatchewan, trading up from a 2002 CRV. the '02 was starting to have trouble with the suspension. We moved to Victoria in 2016, so the car has seen its share of winters. It loves winter. Loves it. Snow? Let me at it! Cold morning? Don't even bother to plug me in! I once had a fuse blow in the house, at -45. The car sat out there for 12 hours. it started on the second turn of the key -- reluctantly, but no problem. Serviced regularly, the only repair was a new hood, thanks to hail damage. I'm retired, age 78, and we're not getting another car. It's so easy to enter. Just open the door, sit down, and pull your feet in. None of that crouching down to curb level to jackknife into a Prelude or a Civic. The most comfortable seats we own. I've driven back and forth from Victoria to Saskatoon, summer, spring, and winter. Several times. Alone. I can make it in 2.3 days, and no fatigue whatsoever. OK, it's not a race car. People who moan about its being underpowered -- live with it. Next time, buy a hot V-6 something or other. This car is sedate, kind of quirky to look at, but not an eyesore. My last trip, Saskatoon to Vancouver, fully loaded . . . I mean stuffed with stuff . . . my gas mileage was 7.3/100km, always at speed limit. 7.3/100 km is nearly 40 mpg! This includes the up and down Rocky Mtn high, too. And it handles like a sedan, with a decen 6-spkr stereo/CD/mp4 link The transmission is silky smooth. Changing up or down the gears, you can't feel a thing. The tach tells you the engine is pulling harder, but the shifting was like butter. Look at the reviews in this site. 5 stars is normal!! And I agree.
The only CRV I loved more than the 2011 was our 1998. We'd still have it if my daughter hadn't reversed it into a tractor -- hard. Totaled. We still miss the little guy.

2011 Honda CR-V

Would recommend
I bought the "bare bones" Honda CRV. no leather, no upgrades what so ever. It is a front wheel drive with no 4x4 option on it. I purchased for commuting to school and work. I get 31 miles per gallon, which is amazing on gas. I fill up my tank once every 10 days at a cost at $55 on silver fuel at 1.10 a liter aprox.

Cons. It is a little road noisy. The interior fabrics are on the cheaper side. I did have to purchase a set of

But like I said earlier, I purchased it solely for travel and good gas mileage. I have enjoyed this vehicle and would recommend to someone who wants something bigger then a car, but better on gas then an SUV. It has good cargo space in the back and I have never had issues not having enough space. Overall, great car, never had any issues on it as of yet and it is now almost 5 years old, actually I have never taken it in to Honda for anything other then an oil change.

2011 CR-V an average performer
The vehicle is adequate performer, but I have experienced numerous problems getting warranty related repairs at my dealer. The service personnel act as if Honda vehicles can’t possibly have defects (can you say arrogant), even when the car effectively destroyed my rear tires due to improper assembly of the rear suspension at the factory. It took 6 weeks for Honda to admit to and then correct the problem and they then had the nerve to charge me for the rear tires their improper assembly destroyed. I am now having an intermittent problem with the tire pressure monitoring system. The dealer and Honda both admit the system is malfunctioning (it throws an error code when it kicks out), but both are refusing to repair the system unless by some miracle I can get the car to a dealer when it actually not working. So while the car itself is an adequate performer, Honda and its dealer network are receiving a failing grade. Next time around I will buy from a company that actually stands behind its products.

OK Car
It's a nice car and all, comfy. Yet, unreliable. Breaks down in the snow. Horrible fuel economy. Went on a road trip and unfortunately, used a lot of gas for such an average-sized car. Stylish appearance tho.

Great family vechicle
This great vechicle is good for new family, especially for those who have 1-2 babies. V6 engine, all wheels drive and safe in the winter, but i did not drive in the winter yet. Great fuel consumption on this size of SUV, about $10/100 kms on hwy and locally i think it just a little more. The color is black look really great when it is washed, but even it is dirty still can't see that bad when it compares with white color vechile. Price is great, you will save a lot on this vechile, don't miss it out.

Great dependable vehicle for the family
We have owned this vehicle for about a year now and are extremely happy with it.
Words to describe our experience:
dependable
practical
great resale value unlike others
good warranty

We have the two wheel drive version which is very good with no winter driving issues yet.
Highly recommend this choice however if you have more then 2 children space could be tight!

Its a terrific Ride
I can't complain about this vehicle for the most part. It has been reliable, is a nice ride, and is fairly good on gas. The one down-side is that there is a vibration throughout the vehicle when cruising between 50-80 km/h, which I understand is common for this vehicle. If somebody could only figure out what the problem is! It has not affected the performance so far, but it is annoying.

It is quite the average car. It is very stylish and sleek on the outside, but does not offer much in terms of design or modern features on the inside. It has good trunk space and is very good for families, however the back seats can quickly get cramped

Love my Honda
I've been driving my car for over a year. But I have loved Hondas ever since I learned to drive using my mom's old CR-V. (5 years ago) It's comfortable, easy to handle, and for such a compact SUV, you can fit a lot in it! I moved from one province to another using my little CR-V! Fuel economy is excellent, I only have to gas-up once a month (I mostly city-drive, but it's excellent on the highway as well) And I love it during the summer-time, I have a moon-roof that I truly enjoy. Aside from that, it's a sleek looking car, and my mom traded in her old CR-V for another one :) That's how much we love our Honda.

CR-V the family SUV
Great vehicle with excellent reliability and phenomenal paint / attention to detail when it comes to bodywork (an important characteristic in Canada). It is rare to see a rusting CR-V. Gas mileage could be better in the city but its a lot of vehicle to getting going and stop again so I guess it makes sense that it creeps toward 12.5 L/100km in the city. All in all a great vehicle.

Gets you places and that's all
About as average an SUV there is. It can be considered a CRV but there's still not much to it. It's built on the Civic platform but gas consumption isn't close to that of a Civic.

The base model is very bare-bones but it has the basics. There's LOTS of space at the back and in the rear seats. However, if you put a car seat at the back blind spot visibility will suffer. Power....well that's a joke.
