This car is very reliable for how hard my family and I have worked it. It is our second vehicle and we use it constantly. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for and even balance between car and truck.

I LOVE my Escape and everyone I know that owns an Escape, also LOVES theirs. Unfortunately, I don't need 2 vehicles so it has to go. This vehicle has never left me at the side of the road and could climb a mountain in the middle of a snow storm. I love the clear visibility it offers in that you sit up a bit higher than a car, but you don't feel like you are driving a 1/2 ton. I highly recommend this vehicle for all ages.

I love this truck. Runs smooth, supper comfortable on long trips. Excellent gas mileage on hwy. Over all it fits three child buster seats in the back comfortably. Has fold down seats and seat backs.

great for winter time, the 4x4 work amazing and it is very good on fuel, it has a very big space at the back, you can really shop and not worry about all the staff you buy

Love this car. Has the space for anything I need as well as the option for towing. Never have to worry about getting stuck in the snow and has amazing fuel economy. Sound system sounds amazing still and its very comfortable to drive.

This was a fantistic vehicle with little problems, except within the last year 3 out of the 4 break lines went. I live in the north and did not have a block heater on the vehicle, i never once had a problem with the car starting or any problems with it in the snow.

It is so comfortable to drive, easy to get in, some vehicles are so low and I'm tall and it's much easier to get in and out of. The fuel mileage is terrible though. I keep the oil changed and regularly get the car checked but nothing has helped with this problem.

This SUV is great in the snow and had been very reliable and safe for my family. It is not the best on gas but it makes up for the way it drives in the winter.

Time for an upgrade. Been an excellent vehicle. Would be an excellent truck for a second vehicle or for a small familly. Will be sad to see it go.

Good SUV reliable and a good ride. Feel safe to have my sone in with me for trips, unlike my last car.

has gotten me through everything I needed it too, little issue with the recall on the anti lock break system but no real issue thus far

In 2002 I bought a new 2002 Escape XLT. Best investment I ever made. Drove all across Canada and the States with it and never had a problem. A very reliable vehicle. Drove through Montana blizzards and -50 as well as the Cold Canadian winters with their snow/ice roads. This vehicle saved my life more than once with its reliable traction and handling on these roads. September 2012 I traded her in after putting 151,000 kms on her for a new 2012 Escape Limited. I've never been sorry and you won't be either. Overall, best vehicle I've ever owned!
PS.... I even got my sister in to an Escape and she too Loves it!!!

My escape is great riding and reliable vehicle I have owned it for eight years now and have not had any issues with it.

I bought this vehicle in 2008 and had it until 2010. It was great lots of room for the family and the tools.

Great SUV, reliable, lots of space. I'm short and can drive it comfortably even if mine is standard. I wish they hadn't changed the shape for the new ones, I wanted to buy a new one sooner or later but I don't like the way they look.

I am a short woman and I have never had any problrms driving my Escape, and it's standard too! It's reliable and the space is huge compared to the overall size.

Very reliable, and affordable small SUV. Decent on gas for an SUV, lots of room for a growing family and travelling 100lb dog.

The Ford Escape has been one of my favorite vehicles... a lot of power for a V6 SUV. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone wanting comfort, performance and ultimately a reliable SUV.

- poor fuel economy (seems equal or worse compared to a 4.2L GMC Envoy)
- forgettable styling inside and out
- good in snow
- high ground clearance
- good cargo capacity
- strong heater/HVAC system
- weak A/C at 130,000kms
- transmission failed at 120,000kms
- good AWD system

After much research, it became apparent that I was not the only on who had to replace the transmission. I loved the chassi, and the turning radius. Felt solid when I was driving it. The interior was leather, it was not quality but it didn't mark up easily which was great. The stereo sounded good for factory, and it always got me home in the snow with the 4x4. Unfortunately was very heavy on fuel.

Overall, for its time it was a decent truck. I would consider one of the New Escapes in the future.

Nothing named better, "Escape" That is what I feel like everyday! Best thing I owned, 4 wheel for winter, high enough to see great at night but not climb in, and great to backup. Someday I'm getting a newer year!
