Has never caused any major problems, and have never lost confidence even on 500km+ road trips. Easy to maintain, and if taken care of only minor rust issues and rare repairs needed. Surprisingly comfortable seats and always a smooth ride.

I reside just outside of the city and drive to work with this car. I have put mostly highway km's on it and it drives like a dream. I can get anywhere between 550-650km per tank of fuel (45-50L). Nice little car with lots of power, feels like I am driving a V6 with the 2.4L engine. Easy to get around town as well because of its size.

I purchased the car last January and have had really good luck with it so far. The only thing I've done to it is the routine maintenance such as oil changes, rotating the tires, changing the coolant, changing the air filter and changing the automatic transmission fluid. Oh yeah and I changed the wiper blades. It's a peppy little car, it's quite roomy, it holds the roads rather well at highway speeds and best of all I think it's a sexy looking car. I always wondered what the fuss was over that Cavalier since I was seeing it every where and now I know what it was. This car is amazing. So if it's your first car, second, third, fourth or whatever I highly recommend that you consider the purchase of a late model cavalier. You shall not be disappointed. I'm just sad that GM is no longer producing the Cavaliers. I think they should go back to the Cavalier platform, but that's just my opinion.

This is an amazing car; it's comfortable, reliable, great in the snow, crazy powerful and I imagine sexy in it's day (especially with the tints). I only have 2 cons after years of this car, I have owned both the 2.2L basic and 2.4L LS models and the gas mileage is astronomically better in the 2.2L, and given that 2.4L is virtually unneeded I would stay away from it, also it lets a ton of air noise inside the car making a not so quiet ride. Otherwise, its a great starter or budget mobile.

car it self have no complaints about other than it doesn't like winter. but its cheap on gas, and parts are cheap as well. good car for someone just starting out

i love it because its very gas efficent and cute and small This is a great car. small , cheap and reliable it is a single mothers dream come true :)...........

over heating issues, small car corrosion issues, no way to check transmission fluid levels with out lifting it off the ground to get to the inspection plug (no dipstick other than the designer), Great gas mileage, enough pep but watch engine temperature, good comforts (A/C, Pwr Windows ,door locks ECT.) If it's over 1000 dollars and not certified run, run fast.

I have put almost 400,000 on this car and it just keeps on going. I have done not work to the motor, but have always done regular oil changes. This is not a fancy car but for a little in town ride it is perfect. I can put 3 kids in the back seat with no problem and it can also easily hold 4 adults, 2 in the front and 2 in the back. My air conditioner is still the coldest one I have ever had in a car. I will update when the poor little car gives up!!

great point a to b car, looks decent, gets you groceries, takes you places, is not a bad car, isnt junk, drives well, isnt a minivan, wins my vote for good little car of the year

My 2001 Cavalier has been a great car! I travel almost 100km/day just getting to work, and have found this car decently comfortable for the trip. I get Very good fuel economy, spending less than 10$/100KM on fuel. I would recommend this car to anyone who would like a nice comfortable reliable car.

This car is functional but not very comfortable. It rides rough and sounds very tinny. If you only have a limited budget for buying a car, it would certainly be a good choice because it is economical.

reliable and long lasting car. worth the investment and will allow for great amount of usage. make sure used cars are researched and checked by mechanic in order to prevent you from getting a bad car

My experience with this car would be that it does not look that great, but still presentable but its gets me from a to b for less gas money than the other cars ive had

Most people don't think of a 12 year old Z24 as being reliable, but this one has been for me. The only repairs have been fuel pump, AC, and starter. Otherwise its normal maintenance items only - oil change, brake change, undercoat every year, and the odd other wear and tear item.
This car starts within 2 tries every day no matter how cold.
When I put the back seat down I can carry 8 foot plus boards without rolling a window down.
This was the only car my family had with two baby seats for 2+ years and it wasn't that bad.
When on the highway it gets about 8.5L per 100 km - which is right on the factory spec - not bad for a 12 year old car!
Did I mention it has over 250,000 kms on it?

My 2001 Chevy Cavalier has been a great car! Regular maintenance and very little else has gone into the car and I can depend on it every day. This car took me across Canada and back a couple of years ago and also on a very long driving trip through the U.S.. I highly recommend this car for anyone looking for a good reliable fuel economy car.

My Chevy Cavalier has been a great little car for me. I got it in 2001 and it's still going strong. Regular maintenance and very little else has gone into the car and I can depend on it every day. It will start in minus 30 weather without being plugged in, although I only do that in a pinch. I don't hesitate to recommend this car to anyone.

My Chev Cavalier is the best car I've ever had. I've had to put so little money into over the years. It continues to be reliable, has good fuel economy and just recently has taken me across Canada and back as well as a long trip through the US. I couldn't be more pleased with my car.

This has been a great car for 11 years. It is a great commuter car. Parts are generally cheap and easy to get.

I've owned this car since 2008. Regular maintenance and rust proofing has been done so repairs have been minimal. For a car that is almost 12 years old, it's still pretty good.

Had this care for many years, never broke down, regular maintenance is pretty cheap. 4 Cylinder engine is pretty good on gas, especially for the highway. All in all great first car or winter beater.

the cavalier is a good reliable automobile it is good on gas and gives you a good three sixty view. It handles very well but is kind of a rough ride. Another down fall is the interior is very noisy.

10 years of great service very low cost to maintain great fuel mileage best i ever seen. It is a shame they stopped making this model. The cobalt don't even come close to the performance of the cavalier. I would buy another cavalier no doubt if they had 2013's coming off the assembly line. I have 300,000 kms on my car now and still runs great.It's just a shame you stopped production of the cavalier.I have yet to see a car to match my 2001 cavalier.

I can't say enough good things about my 2001 Chev Cavalier. It has cost me very little in extra work besides normal maintenance. Mileage is excellent especially on the highway. It has started without being plugged in at minus 35 degrees. I can depend on it day after day.
