Toyota Tacoma 1993-2015Change

Even though I've only had this truck a short time it's been quite impressive with the amount of features inside and out. I'm pretty sure it would have lasted as long as my first Tacoma TRD .Since buying my first Tacoma back in 2002 and seeing one or two on the road ,I now see them all over the place . I truly love this truck !!!

it was a great truck hate to sell it, always ran good no problem ever very powerful for a 6 cylinder and ver good on gas on 80 dollars i would get close to 600 km highway and 500 city so good on gas too

I have owned a few trucks for my business and this one is the most reliable, is the best performer, with the best on gas mileage and great power and towing capacity

This truck has served our family well since new for the past 6 years now and has been a low cost pleasure to drive. Great off- road capability in a mid size truck package

I love everything about this truck. it drives like a dream smooth soft and comfortable with just the right power. she is reliable and trustworthy. definitely the best on the road.

and the 4x4 will take you any were you need to go. The 4.0 L
V 6 has plenty of power,and is good on gas. I would recommend these truck to anybody,and the only reason I am selling my 2008,is I upgraded to a Brand new 2014 Model.

There’s no doubt that the Toyota Racing Development-equipped 4x4 Toyota Tacoma has earned a reputation for its off-road capabilities. the Tacoma has a much higher level of off-road prowess that could very well outperform other midsized, and some full-sized, pickups on the trail.

Reliable, fun and ready for anything. This is a great truck with V6 4x4 and can-do attitude. Love it!

To date I have 189,000 k's. I'm on the 3rd fuel sensor. I had to contact TCI to have the 2nd sensor covered but I stil needed to pay labour.
After owning for 4 years , the chassis and frame is rusting away. Extremly poor undercoat. It's making a mess out of my concrete driveway. Dealership told me to tremclad spray paint and oil spray to reduce rust.
Wind noise between drivers door and extra cab door. That's it's nature I'm told.
Truck contained no cabin filter behind glove box when bought new. I installed my self and it reduces the dust inside the cab. Folks , the is not the ''Toyota Way''. I know, as I retired from the Toyota Manufacturing Canada.

Is comfortable to drive it,a really nice truck and good looking .
You,your kids and your pets fell safe in it.

If you are looking for a small p/u for just day to day small jobs, you won't find any better, simple, sturdy, fuel efficient, and 100% reliable!! this truck was made to last! there is no other truck as reliable as this truck. Its definitely a though little truck.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I've had my 2013 Tacoma TRD/Trail 4x4 for 6 months and I love this truck, both on and off road. It's a double cab, long bed. Prior to this, I owned 10 Jeeps, so I'm not going to compare a truck to a Mercedes Benz. It's a truck.....a fantastic truck. The interior (leather seats) is well designed and the workmanship is excellent. The dashboard is functional and convenient. The external styling is nicely done with an appropriate "rugged" look. The ride (for a Jeep guy like me) is very comfortable, smooth and extremely quiet on the highway. I've only used 4-wheel drive a few times to get back to my bowhunting areas, but it performed flawlessly. Although I've only had it 6 months, so far the truck is everything I hoped it would be.

Bought the truck hoping to be able to use it as a truck, box is not long enough, interior is uncomfortable, there are more blind spots in the cab than the CNIB, transmission is noisy, truck has vibrations in drive train, 4x4 shift on the fly is as smooth as a Russian tank, in the winter the truck feels like it is going to fly off the road, brakes grab really hard when its cold, you have to feather them...it gets 28.89 liters/100km...was told it gets 12 liters/100km, dealer told me its because of the tires...what.....maybe I will run it on the rims instead...turning radius is the same as a 40 foot motor home, have almost run into oncoming traffic in a tight turn, not enough lighting in the dash for some of the switches, tried to mount front fender flares ...and they don't fit....truck wanders all over road like a goat....I would like to take it off roading, but I don't trust it, and I am scared it would break....could go on about this thing but....I know there are some out there that like the truck....I am not one of them....never again

Bought truck brand new, 6 speed manual
Interior had noisy plastic parts, fan was noisy at low speeds too, was surprised when I ran out of washer fluid that there was no dash display, the seats in the back of the access cab were useless, never used once, poor layout too, the subwoofer made it even more useless, the suicide back doors don't work well if your in a tight parking lot.

BF Goodrich tires cracking after 30,000 k, tires or alignment? Toyota would not pay for neither even under full warranty. Tires were noisy too, granted they were off road though so the tread was more aggressive than all season, had to put on Michelin tires at my cost so not happy.

now @ 3 years / 50k summer heat wave a/c condenser fries out and takes other components with it, sits on hoist for week at Toyota on the park because they cant fix it, final repair bill 3 grand, not covered under warranty, thankfully I bought ECP otherwise I would have been SOL

not same quality as a large pickup, the mid range pickup options are slim, this one looks nice but quality is garbage, buy something else.
Parking wont hold on incline, had to be adjusted

300,000+ trouble free kilometers

Pros:
- Good gas mileage for 4X4 truck
- Great size for city driver/weekend cottager
- Full 4 doors is a definite asset
- No mechanical issues. Only regular service

Cons:
- Oxygen sensor caused "Check Engine Light" to go on.
- Some frame deterioration which there was a recall for.
- NO DIESEL available in North America
- If you wanted cruise control you had to buy the TRD "Off-Road" package which was confusing

I plan on driving this truck until it dies which by the looks of things is going to be a while. I was disappointed that the new model is so much bigger (both physical size and engine)

I bought this 2007 used with over 6 years of experience on it. I have just returned from a trip across the country from Central Ontario to Coastal BC and back. Not a single hiccup along the way. I just changed my oil in Saskatoon, SK and kept on going. I carrier a full bed full of gear. Okay, outside Thunder Bay, ON; the 2.7L engine struggled and I had to downshift to 4th gear. No problem. Same thing all through the BC Interior, but I expected that knowing I had a full load. So after about 16000 kms, I had to replace the AC compressor (mileage of about 120K on the odometer). I was lucky that I did not need my AC on the return legs of my cross country tour. The factory seats were surprisingly comfortable, HEY, it's a truck. This 2007 was my THIRD Toyota truck. I've owned a 1980, 1984, and now this 2007 truck and all of them have been trustworthy. I averaged about 27-29 mpg across the country with the 5 spd tranny and 2.7L engine. So now my son in Chiropractor Medical school wants this Taco because it's the base model and has hardly any electrical luxury features (read: less to go wrong). So I'll be on the hunt for a used 2009 or 2010 Taco soon. My Fourth Toyota half truck. When I was in Fort McMurray, my mates teased me that their F250 and Dodge Ram 2500 Super Duty trucks were 'manly'. They accused the F150 of being a Girly truck, so I guess that makes my beloved Taco a "Gender Confused" truck! LOL ha ha ha ha ha I'm giving this Truck 5 Stars because I only paid $ 16K at my dealership and I ain't complaining. I'm getting another one!

Owning this truck has been a wonderful experience. It hasn't given me a lick of trouble, has been reliable and super fun to drive, especially being a manual transmission. I drove it all over Southern Alberta and in to Eastern B.C. on numerous occasions through all seasons. Had no issues and complete confidence through the harshest conditions over the mountains in the middle of winter. The headlights are the best I've used, even as stock, they project a tonne of light on to the road, great night time visibility.

I have a 2008 Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab. I do enjoy the size and performance of this truck. It has good power and good space. The interior features are lacking they could be stepped up especially on the base models.

I do have major concerns with the structure of the truck. With the composite bed I have had no major issues but with the tailgate has bowed out on me. This was from the use of a Toyota Bed Extender Kit. Toyota now strengthens these tailgates but as mine is out of warranty they are not helping me. I wish they would stand behind their products all of them and take accountability. So beware this is a 1/2 truck that does fail at some basic truck duties.

i drove this truck to the another city to work, only highway. it is good on gas, comfirtable.always dealer maintained and in very good condition. it is with 6ft cargo bed which is very useful. it has lots upgrading. i took care this truck very much. right now, i need a bigger truck so i have to sell it.

Fell in love with this truck the moment I saw it, It's been very reliable over the years and will be difficult to part ways with it.

has great mpg, rides smooth on the hwy with great passing power. having the 4x4 is great for winter city/hwy driving. low maintenance vehicle.

I have owned it since 2009 & have really loved driving it. The truck handles well, is responsive & safe. Excellent for carrying loads. Has a locking rear differential for tough spots. It had one accident prior to me owning it, but my mechanic has had free rein with it and has had no issues at all in the 3 years I have had it. Must sell as I have outgrown the back seat.

Had this car as of 70000kms have hand no mechanicial problems at all since purchase. Great to take to ski hill or hit the back roads and go camping.
