Yes, it is basic but as the title states, it is a very dependable car that is low maintenance. The only maintenance I've done are only the scheduled ones (fluids, filters etc.) nothing major. My 93 Corolla has always started.... even in -40C weather and not plugged in all day. The seats are are what should be expected in an economy car, basic but comfortable. The controls are simple and straight forward. I find that on the doors, the interior quality materials are sometimes better than what you can get in a brand new car.
