If they suggest an escrow service, the majority of escrow sites are fraudulent, operated by scammers. For more info, do a Google search on “fake escrow” or “escrow fraud”. Be extremely wary of offers for your item by distant strangers. They may send you a cashier’s cheque that is worth more then the asking price of your item. They will request you send the balance back to them, shipping agent or business associate, etc. Banks will cash these counterfeit cheque’s & hold you responsible when the funds fail to clear. Common items: ATV’s, Snowmobiles, Farm Tractors Sport vehicles, some dog breeds, laptops, game systems, digital cameras – but could be almost anything. Common countries: Nigeria, Romania, Ukraine, Spain, UK, Italy, Netherlands – but could be anywhere. We have had numerous scammer accounts shut down & are working with officials in attempts to curtail these kind of scams, in the meantime, itPs BUYER BEWARE!
