2008 Ford Escape

@008 Ford Escape
This car was bought used primarily for my three daughters to drive however I have spent enough time in it to give a fair review. The car is boring, noisy, but extremely reliable and roomy. It's truck frame gives me piece of mind so if any of my daughters get into an accident they will have a good chance of surviving with minimal injury. Great on gas. Perfect for the kids but if you are a driving enthusiast I would pass.

2010 Toyota Venza

2010 Toyota Venza
This car is a great family car. Very utilitarian, good performance and fule economy, great reliability. The only knock is that the ride has become firmer as milage increased and road noise is more than I would like. The step in height is perfect as is the comfort. The leather seats however are cheap looking and the power controls to move them are agonizingly slow. No memory seat position makes this a mondane ritual every time I get in the car after my wife drives it. This car is not inspiring to drive, a little boring one might say.

2012 Ford F-150

by M235 on 01-17-2013
Ford 150 with Ecoboost
The back seat room with seats up or down sold me on this vehicle. Unfortunately the Ecoboost has turned out to be an Ecobust. The claimed 32 MPG they advertise the heck out of you never see. Good torque but same gas mileage as my brothers 5.0 litre V8 that he did not pay a $1400.00 premium for. The Ecoboost is great marketing but in real life situation does not return ggod mileage plus you lose the V8 growl. My F150 does not sound like a truck plus the hole in the front bumper that cools the turbos is vulnerable to rocks so I had to pay an extra 100 bucks to have a ventilated cover installed, something I think the dealer should have done. If you dont need the indoor room in the back seat buy a Ram, better looking truck or wait for the new GM's out soon.

2011 BMW 3 Series

Trim: 335is
by M235 on 01-16-2013
BMW 335is Cabriolet
This is an awesome car. Having owned an 08 M3 this car is superior in so many ways. Had it chipped by an authorized Dinan dealer (Budds BMW in Oakville) warranty approved as a result, and it puts out 420 pounds of torque vs only 295 in the M3. It has tremendous off the line power yet yields about 120 km more range per tank in mileage. The cost of the chip was only 3 grand so the savings over an M3 is huge, and better off the line performance especially with the dual clutch transmission. It is a wolf in sheeps clothing. No wonder the next generation M3 is shedding the heavy V8 and going back to a blown 6.
